This is the first page I had to do, we start with our own cj first so that made it nice and easy. I learned how to put painted edges today - fab fun!

Tip in page - Corvids

This was a page for dragonfly jane. I found it fun but quite difficult to place as I dont have any suitable stamps and I wanted it to be a little dark. In the end I settled on an acetate overlay of rooks in a tree to give it the feel I wanted. My name is on the back of the tag.

august week 4 UKS challenge

My poor laptop had a broken screen so I haven't been on line much or done any digital scrapping but my lovely daughter and her partner Ben bought me a new laptop, so to keep my hand in i have done a quick challenge - sadly i have lost some of my digi-kits in the transfer but thanks to Daisy trail for the bits used in this Layout.

The subject for this on was vintage fashion and home sewing, I found an old pattern and used it to back the page and make the flower. The other bits were cut from an old pattern packet and glossy accented.

I joined a tip in pages swap on UKS this is my effort for the butterflies page, i had loads of fun with my new embossing plate, and am quite pleased with the result - i wanted something pale and interesting.

Kabak tatlisi - pumkin recipe

Kabak Tatlisi
ingredients
2 1/4 lb (1 kg) pumpkin flesh
5 oz (150 g) caster sugar
5 oz (150 g) chopped walnuts

method
1. Cut the pumpkin flesh into thin, rectangular pieces measuring about 3 x 1 1/4 inches

2. Place these in a very wide, flameproof earthenware casserole dish, sprinkle with the sugar and add just enough water to cover; leave to stand for 24 hours.

3. Place the casserole dish on a moderate heat, bring to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer gently for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pumpkin is tender.

4. Leave to cool at room temperature and then serve in small bowls or dishes, sprinkled with the chopped walnuts, or with thick cream like clotted cream.

My favourite season - Autumn

"Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" I love Autumn the smell of bonfires the crisp air and the beautiful trees. Fabulous for walking the dog, or strolling in the park Autumn is exciting, fresh and vibrant.

I had a great holiday with my eldest son, his wife,and my three lovely grand-sons and so i used some pictures of the holiday for the november weekly challenge on uks. Our villa was up this very steep slope that led to the church on top of the mountain, exhausting walking but fabulous views!

Out of touch!

I have been more than a little out of touch with this blog - but I have my excuses ready. (Honest miss the dog ate my homework!) I had a fab weekend looking after my grandsons whilest their parents had a well deserved weekend away at Stratford upon Avon. The boys were perfectly behaved and we had a lovely time, thankfully their parents had a great time too and so everyone was happy. Althought I now know more about Yu-gi-oh than I think is strictly necessary!

Weekly challenge on UKS

This week the challenge was to use a panoramic photo or series of photos, I didn't have a clue, but then inspiration struck, and I dug out some photos taken by my daughter-in-law, they were beautiful pictures and panoramic too!
I really enjoyed playing with my digi for this one and found various bits on daisy trail that worked for this LO. I finally got the hang of the spray paint tool and used it to stencil nature themed shapes on my title letters. I really had fun and I like the LO too, which is a bonus :)

bother that printer!!!

I wanted to do a Hybrid-digi for this weeks uks challenge as I wanted it for my eldest son's album, but after hours of fighting with my printer which rejected my cheapie ink refills and wouldn't be reasonable i have had to do it digi. I will however be redoing it as soon as the printer and I are on speaking terms.
Still here it is anyway. :)

Blue brads Fun challenge

We have been livening up our team spirits with little challenges and fun evenings, and it really makes a difference. We were challenged to create a "white space" style Layout. Mine is Turquoise space but the general feeling is there. :)

Gotta love digi

I have been busy trying to learn how to use my new "Digital Scrapbook Artist2". It is soo much fun and i love it. I have also been printing out bits to use for hybrid and as there are way too many family birthdays this month, i have been making cards too.
I found some old strange photos and used them for the UKS monthly challenge. I required ice-cream colours, journalling, stripes and the subjct had to be about change. I quite liked the end result.

Blue brads Fun evening

My Team on UKScrappers are the Craftaholics and we are part of the Blue brads team for point collecting (ok! yes i am a little competative).
This week we had a fun evening and i really enjoyed it, and i won a prize (not for a LO just for guessing how many smarties were in a jar - i suppose i am just very experienced with smarties!)
We also did a little in-house challenge so i used Scrapblog! and did a little digi LO. Recently i have swapped family photos with my cousins and for the first time found they had a picture of my father with his twin, his sister, and mother. It is hand tinted so has that real vintage feel.

august week 1 challenge from UKS

This is a hybrid LO, I printed out the ribbon and the blue button from a shabby princess kit. The background was glimmer misted. I did this as a page for my eldest son's album (him of the dazzling computer skills). Trying vainly to cut down the amount i spend on scrapping for a bit so that i can save some money for later this year at the pink booby crop :)

Finally back on line!

I've had a few problems - all self inflicted I managed to load something nasty that wiped out my computer. But my eldest son (well know smart alec and all round good egg)fixed it for me. So Yey! Here I am even though I lost all the stuff that I had done and forgot to back up, I don't care cos I am back!!
First up is my attempt at the house challenge for august on uk scrappers - i have recently bought Digital Scrapbook artist2, as i was finding photoshop pro heavy going and i love it, Daisy trail do great kits too.
